It’s our birthday month so we thought what better time to get to know the TWVA team a bit better?!
Today’s blog features a Q&A with TWVA founder, Tiffany (better known as Tiff unless she’s in trouble!) …
Area of expertise at TWVA?
Other than running the business(!), my areas of expertise for Clients are business management and Executive support.
Do sharks complain about Monday? No. They’re up early. Biting stuff. Chasing sh*t. Being scary – reminding everyone they’re a f**king shark. (Sorry about the swearing but I love this so much!)
Your top 3 favourite podcasts/books?
As much as I love listening to music, my preference is always books over podcasts – current top favourites are Strong Woman by Karren Brady, You Are A Badass by Jen Sincero and First Man In by Ant Middleton.
What is something small business owners have to deal with that you want to fix?
Life! My job allows me to channel my inner control freak and I love to get fully immersed in someone’s life and run it seamlessly for them, removing the stress and overwhelm that comes with trying to juggle as many balls as we all have to these days.
What’s your background?
I have always been incredibly ambitious and dedicated to my career – I was offered my first business partnership at 17, with a second following just a year later. However, both were turned down in my pursuit to become a top-class PA. I graduated from Lucie Clayton Secretarial College in 2001 and quickly gained a reputation as a top-level PA/EA within central London. Following a successful 15-year career in the City as an Executive Assistant for a number of large organisations within the financial services, banking, private equity and consumer services sector, I went on to launch TWVA in March 2016.
What’s the coolest thing you’re working on right now?
The launch of TWVA’s new Bite Size Support package – it goes live on 1st April 2019 and I’m really excited about it!
What are the values that drive you?
Trust, honesty and authenticity. What you see is what you get with me and I pride myself on that.
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?
There are too many things to list! Top of the list would be spending time with my son though who is my absolute world. If we combine that with a long, lazy walk with our crazy mutt Denzel, we’re winning at life! I’m also hugely passionate about boxing and would be in the ring every day if I could (note I have a mean right hook …)
Where’s your favourite place in the world?
This is a tough one! The mum in me will say Puerto Pollensa as it’s our go-to every year and my son is as in love with it as me, the shopper in me will say New York and the exhausted me will say Dubai for sheer rest and relaxation!
What’s your secret talent that no one knows about? Or what’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done?
I think this is probably a combination of both but I started my career at 14 as a children’s entertainer. My weekends consisted of dressing up as either a dalmatian or witch and keeping children of varying ages entertained. They say never work with children but I can’t have been too bad at it as this was the first business I was to be offered a partnership in! (Note, it was politely declined as by then my sights were already firmly set on a PA career path …)
